Starting with the fall semester, Rutgers will allow male and female students to share the same dorm room. This will not apply to freshman. Students will still get their rooms on a lottery basis, but for the first time they will be allowed to room with members of the opposite sex. Parents will not be allowed to object, though I think their paying of the tuition may have an influence.
The biggest change being made by the college is the installation of shower doors rather than curtains in the gender nuetral bathrooms which will be shared by male and female students.
This will probably bring the marriage rate down even farther in New Jersey. Most men are just gross, and remember the first time you shared a bathroom with a woman? Some of the things you see are just mind boggling.
It should be an interesting year at Rutgers to say the least.
