Police in the area of Burlington Township, NJ are on the lookout for two elderly women who have scammed several, also elderly, women of money recently. The scam works like this, one of the elderly women approaches an elderly woman in the parking lot of a store with a bag. She then claims she wants a witness when she opens the bag.
When opened the bag appears to contain a substancial amount of money. At which time the woman suggests they go see her boss a financial expert who will know what they should do.
The other woman tells them there is over $50,000 cash in the bag along with some child pornography and the money is probably the proceeds of a crime. She then tells them they will be able to split the money after an investigation if they each put up a deposit to secure it.
When the victim hands over her share, that is the last time she sees the women.
What is the world coming to when old ladies are scam artists.?Guess we really better try to get that Social Security raise approved before we end up getting mugged with a cane.
