A Jersey Shore couple, Brian Parker, 27, of Brielle, and Michelle Pfieffer, 24 of Toms River, have been charged with conspiracy to misbrand and sell drugs illegally and failure to register a drug manufacturing facility. The two advertised on websites and message boards, used mainly by bodybuilders and athletes, various performance enhancing drugs. They offered human growth hormones, which were not approved by the FDA, and fake Cialis, Viagra, and a combination of the two called Superman. All the drugs were manufactured in Parker's basement and were actually imitations.
This story goes to show you the danger of buying anything over the internet unless it is from a reputable source. However, people who are already looking to skirt the law, are already willing to take more chances than most of us are. I can't believe someone didn't die as a result of this. I'm sure the potential customers were ok with the drugs possibly being stolen, but made in someone's basement.?
