The neighbors of Edwin Bliss Stuve, 63,a former medical doctor, were concerned about his recent behavior and notified the Chatham police. When police arrived they asked him if he would consent to a mental health exam and he agreed to go with them. While there the police noticed an overwhelming marijuana smell and returned with a search warrant. They found 58 plants upon their return.
When questioned Stuve told police he had been smoking up to 30 joints a day and wasn't getting much else done. He also claimed he used the marijuana to treat glaucoma and mild brain damage.
The doctor has been admitted to a program where he will be supervised by the mental health department for the next 5 years. When asked by his judge if he was guilty, Stuve replied "Guilty as sin"
I can only imagine this guy being your doctor, weed and mild brain damage. Would probably be like a combination of Cheech and Chong and Gary Busey. However, you wouldn't have to go to the drug store to fill your prescription, he was growing it right in his office.
