New Jersey The 24th Happiest State, Who Was #1?

The results of a newly released Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index placed New Jersey as the 24th happiest state. Residents of all the states were asked to rate emotional health, physical well-being, healthy behaviors, and job satisfaction. I personally love this state, but looking at the categories, frankly I'm surprised we scored that high.
The happiest state according to the poll is Hawaii, followed by Wyoming, North Dakota, and Alaska. I get Hawaii, with the great weather and beaches, but Wyoming, North Dakota, and Alaska? Maybe the people who live there have never been anywhere else.
One thing to be sure these results won't help the travel industry in these parts sell any trips to Hawaii. We don't really like overly happy people. All we can think the whole time is "what are they so happy about, anyway?"
