Snowstorm Got Us All

Something rare happened in New Jersey, no not that it snowed. The fact that the snow got us all! We are used to snow here in Jersey, what were not used to is the entire state being buried. Usually we will hear the talk for a day prior "Gonna snow tomorrow". We immediately rush out to the nearest Shop Rite or Wegmans and buy up all the milk and bread on the shelves. Then it's over to Home Depot or Lowes for a shovel and some ice melt.
The morning comes and we head for the window. Kids with great anticipation of huge amounts of snow so school is closed. The adults with great trepidation hoping the weather people were wrong and you won't be faced with the chore of digging out the car before you head off on a two hour commute that usually takes fifteen minutes. Most times the kids are disappointed and the "big" storm never materialized in your part of the state. The towns closest to Pennsylvania got the bulk or maybe the northern part of the state, but rarely all of us.
This time was different. The storm got us all. Anywhere from 8 to 28 inches is on the ground. Schools were closed, most of us missed a day of work, and most flights were grounded.
But in typically Jersey way, the malls were open and the forecast calls for a high of possibly 60 on New Years Day. Only in JERZEEBABY!
