Finally, the sun is out. If this is what the end of the world looks like, then sign me up for the Rapture. I am also lucky enough to live on the Camden Waterfront, with a spectacular view of Philadelphia, just across the Delaware River.
Being that mom is away today, it will be a father and son day. We are planning to take a walk over to the Camden Riversharks baseball stadium located just under the Ben Franklin Bridge. On game days, the stadium is usually open for us to walk in and check out the men getting the field ready.
From there we will make our way along the beautifully bricked walkway next to the Delaware and head toward the Camden Aquarium. We won't be going to the aquarium today, however. Living just across the street from it, we only go on weekdays when the crowds are smaller. If you have never been to the Adventure Aquarium, it's real name, you really need to plan a trip there. It is truly amazing.
After passing the aquarium, we will head toward the Battleship NJ, which is docked on the Camden side of the Delaware. The sheer size of this ship is amazing, my son loves to look at it. We have yet to go aboard, he's only three and I think he would probably get bored halfway through the tour.
The Battleship is our turn around point. From there we will make our way past the boat docks and toward the Camden Childrens Garden. If you have young children, and are visiting the aquarium on the weekend you should check out the Childrens Garden. They have a train, you can ride on, a carousel, mazes, dancing water, and a butterfly house. We will definitely be stopping there.
Our next destination is actually located on the first floor of our building. Ritas, my so cannot go home without his vanilla cup. It may be hard for someone to believe that we enjoy living in Camden, but tell me can you do any of what we are doing today by just walking around the neighborhood? Didn't think so.
